NCIS seeks information on murders of Marines Lawrence Martens and Rodney Padilla

NCIS is asking the publics for help in solving the murders of Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Lawrence “Larry” Martens and Lance Cpl. Rodney “Rocky” Padilla. Martens and Padilla were found shot and beaten at a parking lot at Maunalua Bay Beach Park in Honolulu, Hawaii, on September 7, 1980.

Martens and Padilla were last seen leaving the Marine Corps Base in Kaneohe for a night out on September 7, 1980. They never returned. Their bodies were found the next day at the unpaved parking lot at Maunalua Bay.

"We believe someone out there has information that can help us provide answers for the families of Lance Corporals Martens and Padilla," said NCIS Special Agent in Charge Kay Een of the NCIS Hawaii Field Office. "They were young men who served our country, and their murders deserve justice."

NCIS is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the deaths of Martens and Padilla.
