Local Drug Task Force Investigation Results in Seizures of Narcotics, Cash, and Weapons: The NCIS Resident Agency Camp Lejeune Special Operations Unit, as part of a local drug task force, participated in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Maysville, North Carolina on Feb. 21 resulting in the seizure of 4,000 grams of methamphetamine, over 1,000 grams of cocaine, as well as fentanyl, cash, and multiple vehicles and firearms. Navy Sailor Arrested for Providing Fraudulent DoD Identification Cards for Illegal Chinese Nationals: Acting United States Attorney Sara C. Sweeney announced that Raymond Andres Zumba has been arrested by NCIS and charged by indictment with bribery of a public official. An investigation by NCIS and Homeland Security Investigations revealed that Zumba contacted a confidential source whose spouse worked at NAS Jacksonville in the personnel office that issues Department of Defense identification cards, and asked whether the spouse would be willing to issue real, but unauthorized ID cards for an under-the-table payment. NCIS Provides Support to Marines Deployed to Southern Border: NCIS Director Omar Lopez visited California and Arizona Feb. 18-20 to see firsthand the work being done by the U.S. Marine Corps to secure the southern border, as well as NCIS’ efforts to keep those Marines safe from harm.
