NCIS Technical Investigative Specialists provide specialized technical capabilities to support NCIS investigations and operations. The technical support provided by these highly trained specialists is often critical to the success of NCIS investigations and operations. Through their efforts, NCIS Special Agents and Technical Enforcement Officers are able conduct authorized interception of telephone communications, employ covert video surveillance, and take advantage of other technical innovations to help meet mission requirements.

With the rapidly increasing use of technology in crime, terrorism, and espionage, the Technical Services Division is continuously develops and refines its technical tools and the means to meet emerging challenges.
