A native New Yorker, Special Agent Razzano is a career law enforcement professional with over 30 years of service. In 1977 he began his career with the FBI in New York City as a clerk and served until 1979. Prior to joining the former Naval Investigative Service (NIS) in 1981, he served as a Special Auditor Investigator with the New York State Attorney General's Office of the Special Prosecutor.
Special Agent Razzano's initial assignment with NIS was at the Philadelphia, PA Resident Agency where he was responsible for conducting general crimes, fraud, and counterintelligence investigations. During his first year with NIS, he was nominated for the Director's Cup, an award for outstanding service. In 1985 he was one of the first NIS Special Agents to provide dedicated counterintelligence support for Navy Special Access Programs in Washington D.C. Following his initial assignments, Special Agent Razzano served in a number of diverse NCIS leadership positions: Assistant Regional Director of Operations within the Washington D.C. region for Counterintelligence; Program Manager for Systems and Technology Protection at NCIS Headquarters, Washington, D.C.; and Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC), Fraud and Economic Crimes for the Norfolk Field Office, Norfolk, VA.
In 1999 Special Agent Razzano was selected to serve in a leadership exchange program with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. There he served as the Program Manager, Economic Crimes. In 2004 the Commander AFOSI awarded Special Agent Razzano with the Department of the Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
In 2004 Special Agent Razzano was promoted to the position of Deputy Assistant Director within the Planning and Evaluation Directorate at NCIS Headquarters, Washington, D.C. In December 2005 he was promoted to the Assistant Director for Financial Management. In March 2007 he was promoted to serve as the Assistant Director for Operational Support. In October 2007 the Director of NCIS selected Special Agent Razzano for promotion to his current position as the Executive Assistant Director Financial Management and Planning.
Executive Assistant Director Razzano graduated from St. John's University, Queens, NY with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and received his Master of Business Administration (Accounting) degree from St. John's University, Queens, NY. In 2006 St. John's awarded Executive Assistant Director Razzano with the "Criminal Justice Distinguished Leadership Award."
