      Special Agent Worth was selected as the Deputy Director in August 2016 and serves as the Chief Operations Officer with responsibility for the efficiency and synchronization of nine operational and administrative directorates: Criminal Operations; National Security; Intelligence and Information Sharing; Cyber Operations; Strategic Planning and Communications; Management and Administration; Global Operations and two field organizations covering Atlantic and Pacific operations. 
  
      Prior to his current assignment, Special Agent Worth served as the Principal Executive Assistant Director for Management and Administration from September 2011 through July 2016 where he was responsible for the daily oversight and management of NCIS business operations including financial, human capital, logistical, acquisition, administrative, planning and evaluation and information technology functions.

      From August 2010 to September 2011, Special Agent Worth served as the Executive Assistant Director for Criminal Investigations with responsibility for directing NCIS activities to investigate and defeat criminal threats to the Department of the Navy.

      In 2009, Special Agent Worth was promoted to the Senior Executive Service and served as the Executive Assistant Director for the Middle East and Pacific Operations until August 2010. His responsibilities included the management and operational direction of all NCIS activities located throughout the northwestern and southwestern United States, Hawaii, the Far East, Southwest Asia, the Middle East, and aboard carrier strike groups and expeditionary strike groups.

      From 2006-2009, Special Agent Worth served as the Special Agent in Charge of the NCIS Norfolk Field Office where he led the execution of operational and investigative activities in the Norfolk area. Prior to that assignment, Special Agent Worth served as the Division Chief, and then Deputy Assistant Director, for NCIS Protective Operations from 2004-2006.

      Special Agent Worth began his career with the former Naval Investigative Service (NIS) in January 1989 at the NIS Resident Agency at Camp Lejeune, NC. He served in a variety of organizational assignments and mission areas, both within the United States and overseas, including Special Agent Afloat deployed aboard the USS America (CV-66) (1993-1994), desk officer at NCIS Headquarters (1998-2000), Supervisory Special Agent, NCIS Resident Agency in Sigonella, Sicily (2000-2003), and as the Personal Security Advisor the Secretary of the Navy (2003-2004).

      Special Agent Worth attended Norwich University in Northfield, VT and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1987 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. He completed the Department of Defense Senior Executive APEX Session 38 in 2014, and he is a 2012 graduate of the FBI National Executive Institute, Session XXXV. His awards include the Department of the Navy (DON) Distinguished Civilian Service Award and the DON Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
